Presentation
The farm "Le Gret" is situated on a 500 meters high hill, 15 minutes outside the city of Arezzo, in eastern Tuscany. From almost every apartment and the swimming pool, guests can enjoy the view on the inspiring Tuscan countryside and the Valenzano castle. The setting of the farm seems to belong to a movie: oaks, cypresses and fruit trees surround the agritourism. In the summer the sheaves of hay dry in the sun. The autumn is just as enchanting, when the wine grapes are harvested and new extra virgin olive oil is made.
The speciality of the farm is to go truffle hunting in the hills with the owner Massimo and a team of trained dogs. In the winter months (December to April), the rare white truffle (the tuber albidium pico or Marzuolo) can be found. In the rest of the year, different types of black truffle grow in the nearby woods. On this website, guests can book truffle hunting packages, truffle tastings and truffle cooking courses.
This is a great location to go for a walk in the national park of Casentino and to get to know the local products, such as the hams from Pratomagno and the delicious Pecorino del Casentino. Also a visit to the monthly antique fair in Arezzo (every first Sunday of the month and the Saturday before), is higly recommended.
